Special Agent Phillip J. Campbell
Special Agent Phillip J. Campbell is the High-Tech Crime Program Manager, Headquarters, United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Quantico, VA.
In July 2000, Agent Campbell began his AFOSI career as a field agent, where he mastered the basic skills required of all criminal investigators. Due to his computer experience knowledge and expertise, Agent Campbell was selected to specialize in cybercrime, where he was responsible for investigating all cyber-related crimes, ranging from child exploitation to foreign computer intrusions. From 2008 to 2011, Agent Campbell was assigned to HQ AFOSI, where he oversaw the HQ AFOSI civilian assignment program for over 400 criminal investigators. He developed command wide civilian agent assignment process ensuring a quality and diverse force, and worked with senior leadership in formulation of assignment philosophy, policy and strategy. In 2011, Agent Campbell was selected for and attended the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Operational Arts and Science. After ACSC, Agent Campbell was selected to be the Special Agent-in-Charge of AFOSI Detachment 521, Ankara, Turkey. He was responsible for the operational oversight of three geographically separated units providing specialized investigative and threat detection support to over 5,500 US military, civilians, and family members throughout the Turkish Republic. In 2014, Agent Campbell returned to the Cyber field as the Command cyber RDT&E action officer, HQ AFOSI, Quantico, VA. In 2016, Agent Campbell was selected to head up AFOSI’s new Digital Forensics and High-Tech Crime Program.
